Verrry interesting - and encouraging! - choice.

By the term "Grace of State" - do you mean that Pope Francis should transcend his apparent personal preference for simplicity, and accept with humility the deference and formality which is an outward sign of the inward authority of the Office of Pope? (Sorry to sound like Sir Humphrey).

Fr.,

We now have a new Successor of Peter, charged with teaching the sacred Truths of the Catholic Church. Deo Gratias.

The Church is some 50 years into the gravest crisis since the last Reformation. For those inclined to accept the idea of a second reformation, there are some intriguing analogies.

For instance, Pope Francis, a Jesuit, the shock troops of the Counter-Reformation, co-founded by St Francis Xavier, praying at the tomb of St Pius V, who was heavily involved in the Counter-Reformation and who formulated his catechism some 50 years after Luther’s Theses.

And we now have a Marian Pope, as was St Pius V, who attributed to Our Lady’s intervention, the victory of Lepanto which surely saved us all.

We have reason for hope!
